I have always loved bonding with our babies. There is something wonderful sitting on the floor playing with someone that counts on you for their entire life. Sure, there are moments where a baby can make you feel like crying, but for the most part, the moments are wonderful.
In the last six months we have had the opportunity to hang out with our baby daughter Sophia. She has been a bundle of joy and frustration as well as she has been the fussiest baby that we have had yet. But the one thing that makes these moments even more important is that she is the last baby that we will ever have. There is some sense of finality in this and sadness as we have really enjoyed helping each of our children to grow up. Looking forward, we have the opportunity to deal with new challenges as we move out of diapers and follow our children as they grow up.
Even though we are forever in the process of moving on, I like to look at some of these moments that we have had with Sophia and smile. A baby is wonderful even if they don’t like to sleep through the night and are grumpy. So, I thought that I would share some of them here.
Baby Laughter
I don’t know if you have ever heard a baby laugh, but it is amazing. You can’t help but smile as you hear them laughing – in many respects, it is magical.
Chewing on Stuff is a Way of Life
Babies love to chew on just about everything. They can be amused and distracted by chewing on just about everything – even if it is four in the morning.
Sit and Fall Down
One of the things that I enjoy the most about babies is that when they try to sit, they fall down. In most instances, this happens in slow motion and while we encourage her to sit on her own, I’ll be honest – I love watching her fall over.
Are these all the moments I enjoy? Not yet. Each day Sophia adds to my life and so do my other children. We are truly blessed to have them.

I always treasured every moment that I have been able to spend with my babies, and I can understand why you do too. Your baby is so adorable – cherish every moment.
